are we heading to matriarchy – no really!

So, are we moving into a world where women dominate family life AND the workplace? Where women make more money than men, are better educated and skip out on marriage because no man is good enough? Well, apparently, we may almost be there, or that is where the trends are pointing. Girl children are now increasingly preferred to boy children, in the United States but even in some Asian countries, and — boys and men are floundering. Young women are in universities, and young men — are boys not men, too distracted by some erratic impulse of life to sit still long enough to graduate or even begin to study. Apparently, some universities and colleges are even beginning to create affirmative action for boys just to get more of them enrolled! And, women CEOs, while still relatively rare, make more money than male CEOs because they are rare and are prized. There are even more women committing violent crimes and — I’ve noticed, sex crimes — as more and more grown women end up in the news for predation on 14 year old boys!

While I doubt that women will ever equal the violent crime rate or sexual offender rate of men, they are entering a new era.

In the world of alternative sexualities… Someday soon , will lesbians make more money than gay men? That would be interesting as lesbians have historically been in mini-ghettoes of relative poverty on places like Valencia Street (in the 90’s) that were then fairly poor — before recent gentrification set in, while gay men were in the shiny Castro area — with more disposable income. Possibly, that will change as well in time. Maybe, it is already beginning to although this article confines itself to the larger mainstream world of heterosexuals, which hardly sounds mainstream any more. Not the world of my parents, and apparently – increasingly not even the world of my own youth. Although my generation battled to begin a quest for women’s equality, I never thought I would see the possibility of women’s domination beginning to crystalize in my own lifetime. Still, only a possibility but not actually a remote one.

Even in politics, conservative right-wing women are certainly ascendent — which is interesting given that the liberation of women has always appeared to be anything other than a conservative project.

I missed this article when it came out, but it is not that old, only from last year. It’s fascinating and goes into detail about these trends, many of which I was vaguely aware of, and some – that I had no idea were occurring. This is well worth a read as it is well-written, comprehensive, and eye opening. From The Atlantic by Hanna Rosin:

“Earlier this year, women became the majority of the workforce for the first time in U.S. history. Most managers are now women too. And for every two men who get a college degree this year, three women will do the same. For years, women’s progress has been cast as a struggle for equality. But what if equality isn’t the end point? What if modern, postindustrial society is simply better suited to women? A report on the unprecedented role reversal now under way— and its vast cultural consequences

Not sure what this will do for or to – the victim politics aspect of feminism, but I guess, we may just find out!

Is it possible to swing into “matriarchy”?…or is this new phase just an evolution of society that will be gentle and hardly noticed by the next generation .

It is true that women are valued as managers these days. I think that Trump likes to talk about this.

Well, I guess they won’t notice if we don’t teach them history, but hopefully they will.

However, while it is truly wonderful that women have all these opportunities and achievements, it won’t be so good to have mostly useless, immature nearly ferrel men as — well the men. That should be an interesting and strange development and no one really knows yet, where it will lead.

Many of these articles such as the one above are written by authors who write as if they don’t have a clue as to why females are out performing males accademicaly. They write in a condensending manner towards males such as the following quote from above.

“Young women are in universities, and young men — are boys not men, too distracted by some erratic impulse of life to sit still long enough to graduate or even begin to study. Apparently, some universities and colleges are even beginning to create affirmative action for boys just to get more of them enrolled!”

Notice in the above quote how the author implies that one of the reasons why boys are doing so poorly is because of some alleged “erratic” impulse that prevents boys from focusing which impedes boys ability to study. Well my question to the author would be when did this “erratic” impulse that prevents boys from studying come about? Where was this impulse during the 60’s and 80’s when boys were out performing girls accedemicaly? At that time did educators blame the girls for not keeping up with the boys? No to the contrary they knew that girls were superior to boys and therefor something had to be wrong with the educational system. So the system was blamed not the girls. But now that the situation is reversed they blame the boys not the system.

Then the author takes advantage of annother opportunity to male bash by suggestion women are moraly superior to men in the following quote.

“While I doubt that women will ever equal the violent crime rate or sexual offender rate of men, they are entering a new era. ” why does he doubt that women will ever equal the violent crime rate of men? Is it because he thinks women are too good morraly to equal males in crimes?

My advice to authors such as the one above is it does little good to only point out a crisis such as the boy crisis which is being alluded to in the article without identifying what the causess are and some suggestions on how to correct the problem. In the case of the problem of why males are falling behind the solution is obvious. It is obvious that since boys once outperformed girls that the educational system was modified to remove any and all things that were alleged to handicap girls and ended up with a system of education which now handicaps boys. therefor the educational system must be made gender neutral and not as it now is girl friendly and boy unfriendly. When this is done since all intelligent test confirm the equalness of the sexes intellectualy with a truly level playing field we can exspect to see no gender gap.Unless this is done than yes we are headed into a matriarchy
